Cognaid measures the performance of its website to determine how we can improve and expand upon the content and services we provide. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cognaid does not sell, loan, trade or lease any personal information collected on our website. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure proper use of your personally identifiable information, Cognaid and its third-party partners employ appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, consistent with industry practices.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children younger than 18. If we learn that we have personally identifiable information about a child younger than 18, we will delete that information. If you are younger than 18 and wish to register to obtain further information or be included in a survey, your parent or legal guardian must register.

California Privacy Protection Act or CPPA

California law allows California residents, upon a verifiable consumer request, to request that a business that collects consumers’ personal Information give consumers access to certain information. This includes the specific pieces and categories of personal Information that the business has collected about the consumer, the categories of sources for that information, the business or commercial purposes for collecting the information, and the categories of third parties with which the information was shared.

California residents also have the right to submit a request for deletion of information under certain circumstances. This is not an absolute right and, in some circumstances, Cognaid may decline to delete the information, such as when Cognaid has an on-going business relationship with you, when we have a continued need to use the information for purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or when we are legally required to retain the information.

Consistent with California law, if you choose to exercise your rights, we will not charge you different prices or provide different quality of services unless those differences are related to your information.

Access to Information

Follow this procedures if you would like to submit a request to access your information or the deletion of your information.

If you would like to submit a request about your data, we encourage you to do so by completing the form located here. You can also submit a request by emailing info@cognaid.com or by calling +18003147273. After you submit the request you will be asked to verify your email address and may also be asked to provide additional information in order to verify your identity, including potentially providing a declaration under penalty of perjury.

Cognaid will attempt to verify your identity by asking for information that correlates with the information that we have previously collected about you. Where this is not possible, Cognaid may request you submit additional information for verification, such as proof of residency or redacted government-issued identification.

Please note that consistent with California law, we will be unable to satisfy your request until we have verified your identity. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. In order to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must provide Cognaid with written permission for the agent to make the request on your behalf or provide us with an executed power of attorney. You will also be required to submit your valid government issued-identification, and the authorized agent’s valid government-issued identification.

How long we retain your data

We will reteain your data for as long as you maintain a current subscription to our services. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
